Get the celebrity treatment! I first visited the Mokara Spa 3 years ago. While I had this Spa Blog idea in my mind at the time, I didn’t really keep a lot of good notes on the visit. And well, life totally got in the way in the immediate weeks after my visit that I didn’t really remember much of the spa. So, on a subsequent trip to Nashville, I made time to go back so that I could take pictures and document my experience for this trip. I am so glad I did.
Mokara has a small locker room area immediately upon entering the women’s area. But they do have changing rooms for those who need it, which is good, so you are not changing directly in front of the door as people come in. Hello!
From there they have a spacious area with several separate sections for showers, sinks and then toilets. They also have a dry sauna.
After leaving this area you enter the retreat lounge to wait for your treatment. It has about 9 lounge chairs, so its enough for crowd control, and you could hang out and read a book if you want without feeling rushed or if you were taking a spot from someone. Now maybe on a busy day, with a large group, that may be different.
The spa area and number of treatment rooms seems sufficient. I had the Mokara Signature Massage. My massage therapist, Yolanda, was awesome!!! Some of her techniques and style make my “Ideal Massage” that I am compiling. I was completely relaxed and in that state of bliss.
I can totally see that Mokara caters to a clientele of not only the OMNI but as Country Award Shows happen right across the street, I imagine any number of celebrities come in for some pre-show services. And it shows in how they operate. At the end of my treatment I was offered water or some champagne, trust me, that doesn’t always happen at other spas!
During the summer months, when the pool is open, you can hang out by the pool and order off of the pool menu. However, even if its off season and the pool is closed, you can still order room service and have it delivered to the spa. So you can really make a full day out of it, and get a little bit of that Destination Spa experience.
Mokara is definitely on any future visit back to Nashville, so maybe I will see you there!
