When checking out a new spa, I always like to try one of their Signature Treatements. Its what the spa is choosing to distinguish itself with, and so I like to use that as a basis of my assessment of the spa. For the Grand Spa at Tabacon Thermal Resort & Spa, this was no different.
When I looked at the Spa Menu, i noticed this was one of the signature treatments and that it was also “new”. I am not sure how new it was. But I decided to try it.
The service was as explained, it was a 90 minute massage, which a focus on the back, and incorporated a number of massage styles. It also included a scrub and fruit enzyme lotion on the hands and feet which were then placed in mitts and booties to further enhance the absorption of the moisture.
Of course, I had some major knots to work out after spending a week hunched over my laptop working on spreadsheets. So my therapists recommended that I come back again the next day and get a swedish or deep tissue or aromatherapy massage. i didn’t make up my mind to do that until the following day. I decided that i had a couple of hours to kill between check out and the time my transportation was to take me back to San Jose. So, first thing in the morning, I decided to check with the spa to see if they could accommodate a last minute appointment and they could.
